Camo & Krooked Remix Competition - Hospital Records Press Release
Straight in from the Hospital Records press office:
Just a quick one to let you know about the Camo & Krooked remix competition.
We’re calling all budding producers to have a go at remixing Camo & Krooked’s - “Hot Pursuit”. The winner could have their remix featured on the Camo & Krooked remix album which is due out early 2012.
Well its certianly been a long time since we’ve published any new content on here. There will be much more of it over the coming weeks…
Lets start with what I would say is a much overlooked track from Marcus Intalex. Released in 2009 on Hospital Records ‘This Is Drum and Bass’ album, Airbourne is a lovely arrangement of rolling, melodic drum and bass that just works.
Brand New from Danny byrd in anticipation of his new album “Rave Digger”
Release date: 27/09/10
Danny Byrd is back once again! Having smashed up dancefloors and radio playlists with last years “Red Mist” not to mention his huge rave rework of Liquid’s “Sweet Harmony” earlier this year.
Featuring the vocal dexterity of IK, replicating a classic 90s hook, “Ill Behavior” gets you right from the word go with its twisted looped intro preceding the mother of all buildups and a chunky west country drop.
Debuted exclusively by Annie Mac and jumped on early by Mistajam and Zane Lowe, this is drum + bass with maximum appeal. Taken from Danny’s forthcoming album “Rave Digger” this is the first single and is a fitting statement of intent for a project which looks set to put a rocket up the backside of UK dance music.

“Med School is delighted to present five stunning re-interpretations of choice tracks from ?Clear Your Mind?, as some of the biggest innovators in drum+bass further enhance and amplify Bop?s creations. First up on remix duty is Blu Mar Ten with an epic adaptation of ?Nothing Makes Any Sense?, characterised by outstanding organic drum programming, rapturous vocal melodies and a growling reese. ?Tears Of A Lonely Metaphysician? is next in line as Lynx + Hellrazor stamp their authority on the opening track from Bop?s debut album. The script is well and truly flipped, taking the dancefloor on a deep and dark journey with seemingly endless progressions and massive attention to detail.
Russian counterpart Subwave supplies deadly new rhythms on ?Song About My Dog?. The divine lead from the original remains in full effect, now underpinned by trademark Subwave beats and a brand new bassline progression to get down to. If that wasn?t enough, we wrap up the EP with two remixes of ?Enjoy The Moment?. The first is a rolling amen rinse-out by Thinnen, the iambop.com remix competition winner, who edged out hundreds of other entrants by striking the perfect balance between elements of Bop?s original and his own deep sliding bassline and breaks. The second is a heart-rending and melancholic dubstep rendition from fellow Saint-Petersburg urbanite Unquote, featuring chilling vocals and sumptuous strings.”
“”Hyper Hyper” is the convulsing electro D+B anthem which has been mashing up dancefloors and airwaves since it began to appear in the sets of A-listers at the turn of the year. Instantly recognisable from its infectious chromatic synth riff, it’s already being championed by the likes of Subfocus in Mixmag – crossing outside the confines of D+B into the wider world.
Beautifully contrasting flipside “Set Me Free” shows Nu:Tone’s diversity as a producer. Honing in on the current vogue for minimal sounding rhythm tracks – as usual Nu:Tone surpasses the technical ability of his peers with a mixdown that is sonically huge. This is the kind of tune which draws you in with its simplicity, subtlety and detail and just won’t let you go!” (Hospital Records, 2010).
Here we have a brand new tune from Boris (Netsky), titled ESCAPE, scheduled for future release on hospital records. This tune has managed to combine a melodic chilled out theme with a driving bass-line and energy. Epic tune, as expected from this future hero of dnb.
The guys at Hospital HQ have released two sample previews of the forth coming Sick Music 2 Album. The tracks are by two of the biggest up and coming acts in Drum and Bass right now; Netsky, Camo & Krooked. Check the previews by clicking here:
